A mad scientist had built a secret laboratory in the sewage system of New York City. In one hour, a neurotoxin would be released in the water system. Could our team stop this madman?
OMEscape mixed technology with standard escape room puzzles masterfully. These puzzles ranged in difficulty and all built up to a great final puzzle. This final puzzle was memorable being that it was more hands-on even for a large group. Each set of puzzles & tasks felt challenging, while still rewarding.
The game was immersive and felt like we had entered a secret lab from the city sewers. Even before it started, OMEscape established the setting by leading us to the basement on the facility. However, there were several instances of mechanical wear and tear that hindered total immersion.
Biohazard achieved the rare feat of successfully scaling up up in difficulty as the game went on. The mood grew tenser and the puzzles became more difficult as we advanced. As we progressed through the city sewers, there was a specific water puzzle that made sense thematically and left us very impressed.
Some sections of this escape room were tight for a group of 6. It was also not accessible for those who are handicapped. During a puzzle, we walked into an area of water that we were not supposed to. Further prompting or perhaps some type of in-game repercussion would have been helpful. We were otherwise left to use our imagination to prevent us from stepping forward.
This Room is a Good Match for
Laboratory of Biohazard is ideal for intermediate players with a couple wins under their belts and for those who won’t mind getting their feet wet.
